Artwork Submission Specification

 

General Artwork Submission

  • In order to process your orders without delay and to minimize your potential art charges, please note the following guidelines when creating your artwork for submission to the factory.  
  • PRODUCTION-READY artwork is best submitted as black and white (RGB) vector art created in a vector program.
  • We can of course accept, and work with, almost any file format received but you will save time and expense if this format can be used. Hard copies, grayscale and colour scanned images (e.g.: jpg) are layouts only - artwork charges will apply as required.

  • Note that we work in Vector-based programs and 'primarily' ILLUSTRATOR
  • For fastest service and to minimize your art charges - PLEASE SEND BLACK & WHITE (RGB) VECTOR FILES IN .PDF / .EPS / .AI FORMATS FROM THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE AS SHOWN:
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • CorelDraw
    • Adobe Photoshop (for 'Photo-etch' or 'Econo-Graphic' items only)
    • Scans should be at least 300 dpi
  • PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL TEXT IS CONVERTED TO CURVES OR OUTLINES and scans are placed or sent along as separate files (as a .tiff for example).

  • Files should not exceed 5 megabytes when e-mailed - i.e. Zip or stuff whenever possible

Medals / Key Chains Artwork Submission

  • Art submitted should be 200% actual size.
  • BLACK REPRESENTS RAISED AREAS, WHITE IS RECESSED.
  • Outsides borders must be at least 2 pt. thickness for one-sided items, 3 pt. for 2-sided at 100%.
  • Raised inside lines should be at least .75 pt. at actual size and recessed line-work should be 1 pt. at 100%.
  • All text under 12 pt. must be (sans serif bold font) at 100%.  Please note that any text under 5 pt. will not be readable in metal.
  • Any two-sided pieces must align perfectly (i.e. - second side flopped, not just a copy).
  • Please note our standard loop in the diagram below.

There must be at least this much raised area
at the top of loops for production purposes.

Lapel Pin Artwork Submission

  • Art submitted should be 400% actual size.
  • Outside borders should be at least 6 pt., inside lines 1.5 pt., and text 22 pt. size (sans serif bold font) at 400%.
  • Everything to be colour filled should be outlined (i.e. - every object to be filled with colour must be walled off).
  • Reference for Photo-Etch product must be grayscale / colour images at least 300 dpi at 400%.
